Today’s cruel daylight crime in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, involved four motorcycle-riding guys who shot a guard, two cashiers, and another person in front of a bank before fleeing with a cash box they had stolen from a car. The cashier who was in the cash van with the money reported that there were 39 lakh in the box which were lost in robbery. The guard passed away while receiving treatment, while the other three are still in the hospital. Security cameras recorded the entire incident.
CCTV footage saw a man in a helmet strolling about the van as some men, apparently bank employees, opened the back door. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road, and the armed guard was stationed outside. The guard was abruptly shot in the back at close range by another individual wearing a helmet who suddenly entered the scene. Others scurried, the man waiting pulled out a rifle and grabbed one of the men’s backpacks from the van, another man pulled out a large package from the rear of the van, and they all fled the scene.

The guard was observed attempting to stand up while lying on the road. Later, bystanders assist him in standing up as they take the injured to a hospital in battery-powered rickshaws. A large police presence arrived at the location to investigate the crime scene, including the Superintendent of Police, Additional SP, and the Deputy Inspector General (DIG). The SP claimed that the men made an effort to rob the van, and it is yet unknown how much money was taken. The incident took place in front of Axis Bank, which is situated in Beltar in the Katra Kotwali neighborhood.
