Miniature Stages To Celebrate India’s Cultural Diversity At Maha Kumbh-2025

Maha Kumbh-2025, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, is set to become a cultural extravaganza as it will showcase the rich and diverse traditions of India. From January 10 to February 24, the Uttar Pradesh Culture Department will organize daily performances of folk dances and Ramlilas at 20 specially constructed miniature stages spread across key locations in Prayagraj.

As part of the vibrant cultural program, 20 small stages will be erected at strategic venues throughout Prayagraj. These stages will serve as platforms for performances that highlight the cultural diversity of India, with folk dances from various states being showcased daily for 45 days.

Folk dance forms such as Faruahi, Dhobiya, Mayur, Karma, Vantangiya, Tharu, Awadhi, Dhedhiya, Chanchar, Rai, Pai-Danda, Saira, and Badhawa will be performed by over 10,000 artists from across the country. The performances will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm, offering an exciting and culturally enriching experience for the thousands of pilgrims, tourists, and locals attending the event.

Spiritual Ramlilas To Enrich Devotees’ Experience

In addition to the folk dances, the Maha Kumbh-2025 will also feature spiritual Ramlilas, offering devotees a unique opportunity to experience the sacred traditions of India. One of the prominent stages for Ramlilas will be set up in the Nagvasuki area, where Kalpvasis and devotees will be able to immerse themselves in the spiritual energy of these performances.

The Ramlilas will be staged by artists from various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Notable groups such as Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal (Udaipur), Ashok Mishra and team (Madhya Pradesh), Ratnakar Dramatic Art Production (Delhi), and Mithilaanchal Avadh Adarsh Ramlila Foundation (Bihar) will participate in these performances, ensuring a rich diversity of styles and interpretations of the Ramayana.

Stages Set Up At Iconic Locations Across Prayagraj

The miniature stages will be set up at over 20 key locations in Prayagraj, including at the Lete Hanumanji Temple, near the Arail-Phaphamau bridge, and at Balson Chauraha. Other notable locations include the Rewa-Mirzapur-Prayagraj Road near Naini Chauraha, Minto Park Gate in Kidganj, and the Civil Lines All Saints Cathedral Church. These strategically placed stages will ensure that cultural and spiritual performances are accessible to pilgrims and locals throughout the Maha Kumbh.

This initiative, guided by the Yogi government, reflects Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to showcasing India’s cultural heritage at the global stage during the Maha Kumbh. By combining spiritual and cultural performances, the event will provide a holistic experience, celebrating both the diversity and unity of India. With over 10,000 artists performing daily, the Mahakumbh-2025 promises to be a grand spectacle that will captivate and inspire all who attend.
