Millions Of Salutations: Amit Shah Pays Tribute To Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar On Birth Anniversary

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday paid tribute to Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on his birth anniversary, highlighting the enduring relevance of the RSS founder’s ideas.

Taking to X, Shah posted, “On the birth anniversary of Dr Hedgewar Ji, the founding Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a nationalist thinker revered most profoundly, millions of salutations.”

“With a visionary approach that linked youth power to nation-building, Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Ji established the Sangh, which has today grown into a vast banyan tree. His efforts revived India’s cultural consciousness, forging a powerful tradition of patriotism, discipline, and social unity,” the post read.

Shah further added, “His resplendent life will forever inspire the countrymen with an unwavering sense of duty toward the motherland—through steadfast loyalty, sacrifice, and dedication.”

Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, born on 1 April 1889 in Nagpur, founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1925. He conceived it as a disciplined volunteer organisation during the freedom movement, aimed at strengthening unity and fostering a sense of national identity.
