Meghalaya Police Brings Sonam Raghuvanshi To Phulwari Sharif In Bihar

The Meghalaya Police have brought Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, to Phulwari Sharif police station in Patna under heavy security.

Raja was allegedly murdered while the couple was spending their honeymoon in Meghalaya.

Sonam is now under strict surveillance as authorities prepare for her transfer to Guwahati.

Transit to Guwahati scheduled for Tuesday

Sources confirmed that Meghalaya Police plan to fly Sonam from Patna Airport to Guwahati at 12:40 PM on Tuesday.

Officials expect the police convoy to reach the airport by 11 AM.

Following the flight, she will be taken to Shillong by road. Authorities have secured a five-day transit remand to facilitate her transport and interrogation.

Sonam Raghuvanshi’s journey traced from Ghazipur to Patna

Late Monday night, a joint police team from Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar escorted Sonam from Ghazipur to Patna via Buxar.

The entire route was monitored closely.

Police allowed Sonam to rest at the Phulwari Sharif police station before her journey.

Police arrested Sonam in connection with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, whose body they found in a gorge near the Weisawdong Parking Lot in Meghalaya on June 2.

The couple had gone missing on May 23, initially triggering a missing persons investigation that later escalated into a murder case.

Sonam Raghuvanshi’s surrender and arrest

On June 8, Sonam surrendered to the police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and claimed that someone had drugged her and brought her there.

Uttar Pradesh Police’s Additional Director General (Law and Order), Amitabh Yash, confirmed her statement.

Her surrender marked a critical breakthrough in a case that spanned multiple states.

Murder linked to extramarital affair

Meghalaya Police alleged that an extramarital affair motivated the murder.

Sonam reportedly conspired with her boyfriend, Raj Singh Kushwaha, to kill her husband.

Following her surrender, police arrested Kushwaha along with three other individuals: Vishal Singh Chauhan from Indore, Aakash Rajput from Lalitpur, and Anand from Bina in Sagar district.

Authorities continue investigating the case, which has drawn national attention for its cross-state implications, premeditated planning, and dramatic developments.
