Medicine Price: Inflation in the country is greatly increasing the problems of the common man. The prices of everything have started touching the sky. There is a daily increase in the prices of even the smallest essential things. In such a situation, a relief news is coming out for the countrymen. Where the prices of 127 essential medicines used on a daily basis are going to fall.
In such a situation, the government organization National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the prices of medicines with big drug manufacturers, according to the news report, the regulator NPPA, related to fixing the price of medicines, has prescribed medicines for diabetes, headache and high blood pressure. Retail prices have been fixed for 127 drugs used in treatment.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has also fixed the prices of formulations to reduce elevated cholesterol and triglycerides levels. In a notification, the regulator said that in exercise of the powers conferred by the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, the prices of drugs have been fixed by the NPPA.
The list of 127 medicines includes the names of Paracetamol, Amoxycillin, and Metformin. On the one hand, the cost of medicines used in most homes like Paracetamol is going to come down. The price of some medicines like Montelukast and Metformin is going to increase.

At present, Paracetamol 650 mg is sold at Rs 2.3 per tablet, whereas now its price has been increased to Rs 1.8 per tablet. Along with this, the price of Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate has been increased from Rs 22.3 per tablet to Rs 6.8 per tablet.
According to a report, Rajeev Singhal, general secretary of the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists, told that it is a good decision, but the price of some medicines like Paracetamol had already been reduced. With the increase in the cost of active pharmaceutical ingredients, there is little scope for manufacturers to reduce prices further.” I hope that the supply will not be affected in future”.
