A 22-year-old man passed away in the Municipality Colony neighborhood of Baran City after he was allegedly attacked by a mob over some previous grouse. The victim was identified as Krishna Nagar local Kartik Pankaj according to police officials.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Pankaj was ambushed in broad daylight by ten to twelve individuals brandishing iron rods and sharp objects, according to SHO Ramvilas Meena of the Baran City Police Station.

Pankaj had a criminal history and was released from jail on bond about two months prior, according to the police.
According to police estimates, he broke the window glass of an accused party’s car on Friday night, which led to the attack on him.
According to the SHO, Pankaj’s body has been returned to his family and four men have been detained by police about the incident.

The kin of the victim and others belonging to his community mounted a demonstration blocking a road in the area, demanding compensation and swift punishment for the accused.
They were later persuaded to call off their protest by the authorities.
