Man gives himself in, taking responsibility for the explosion in Kerala

The Kerala Police stated on Sunday that a guy who claimed responsibility for the explosion at the Kalamassery convention centre had turned himself in at the Kodakra Police Station in Thrissur.
Dominic Martin has provided some evidence, which we are now reviewing. He identifies himself as a Jehovah’s Witness, according to the Kerala Police.

The explosion

Around 9:30 a.m., an IED explosion shook the Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Kalamassery, Kerala, disrupting a Jehovah’s Witness prayer service, leaving one woman dead and over twenty injured.

52 patients admitted to various hospitals…Of the thirty admitted patients, eighteen are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and six have serious injuries. One of the six is a twelve-year-old child. Other private hospitals house the remaining injured individuals. According to sources, Kerala Health Minister Veena George stated, “The deceased person has not been identified yet.”

CM’s remarks

Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan called the event “unfortunate.” “This is a very regrettable occurrence. Information is being gathered. The state DGP and other top police officers are en route to the location. We are giving it careful thought. He had stated earlier in the day that “there are multiple injuries and one fatality.”
After Vijayan spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the latter promised to provide all assistance from the Centre in order to look into the offenders.
