Main Accused Confesses In Gaya Gang-Rape Case; Police Continue Hunt For Two Others

A minor girl was abducted and allegedly gang-raped by three individuals in Bihar’s Gaya district, according to a police official.

Gaya Police reported that one of the accused has been arrested while the other two remain at large.

The incident occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Imamganj police station. The girl was abducted from her home on the night of July 1 and taken to a brick kiln where she was gang-raped.

The victim endured three days of continuous assault before being released on July 4, after being threatened with dire consequences.

Upon returning home, the girl initially remained silent but eventually recounted her ordeal to her mother. The family approached the local police and filed an FIR on Saturday evening.

The accused allegedly attempted to pressure the family not to contact the police, but they proceeded to lodge a complaint at the Imamganj police station.

Following the report, Imamganj police conducted raids at several locations and arrested the main accused, Pappu Singh.

“Pappu Singh was arrested from Sikaria locality under the jurisdiction of Rampur police station in Gaya city, and he has confessed to the crime,” stated Amit Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the Imamganj range in Gaya district.

The police are actively searching for the remaining two accused.
