A deeply emotional scene unfolded at Siddhapeeth Dakshin Kali Temple when Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj took part in the Bhasma Aarti after completing 25 days of rigorous spiritual practice.
During this period, Maharaj Ji reportedly remained seated in the same posture for extended periods of 20 hours each day. Despite the physical strain, he joined the sacred ritual with unwavering faith and dedication to Lord Shiva.
The prolonged spiritual practice appeared to leave Maharaj Ji physically exhausted, making it difficult for him to stand. Nevertheless, he carried heavy bags of sacred ash and actively participated in the Bhasma Aarti.
While performing the ritual, Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj repeatedly chanted, “Mahadev… Mahadev…” His devotion appeared to overcome the physical discomfort as he remained completely absorbed in the worship of Lord Shiva.
The sight deeply affected devotees gathered at the temple, with many becoming emotional as they watched the ritual unfold.
The devotees described the moment as a powerful expression of spiritual discipline, faith and complete surrender to Mahadev.
For many present, Maharaj Ji’s determination demonstrated that his spiritual practice extends beyond religious rituals and represents a deeply held personal commitment.
The temple premises appeared to resonate with a single sentiment — the body was experiencing pain, but the mind remained immersed in Mahadev.
The continuous chanting of “Mahadev… Mahadev…” created an atmosphere of devotion throughout the temple.
For those who witnessed it, the Bhasma Aarti became more than a traditional religious ceremony. It emerged as a deeply moving spiritual experience that left a lasting impression on the devotees.
