Maha Navami 2026: CM Yogi Highlights Women’s Empowerment, Uttar Pradesh’s Development

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended greetings on Maha Navami on Monday, October 19, invoking Maa Siddhidatri’s blessings and highlighting the role of women in the state’s development and prosperity.

In a post on X, CM Yogi said women were playing a decisive role in Uttar Pradesh’s progress through their capabilities, determination and self-confidence.

Quoting a Sanskrit saying that prosperity and well-being flourish where people respect women, CM Yogi emphasised women’s safety, dignity and self-reliance.

The Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh had undergone a transformation since 2017, attributing it to the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and its focus on maintaining the rule of law. He said these measures had helped create a safer environment for women and shifted the state’s image from one associated with unrest to one of development.

CM Yogi cited economic indicators, claiming that the state’s gross state domestic product, per capita income, budget and female labour force participation had tripled over the past nine and a half years. He further highlighted investment proposals exceeding Rs 50 lakh crore, growth in large factories and startups, and employment opportunities created through government recruitment and the revival of the micro, small and medium enterprises sector.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister added that Uttar Pradesh was contributing to India’s defence manufacturing and infrastructure development, while reaffirming his government’s commitment to building an empowered and prosperous state.

Maha Navami marks the ninth day of Shardiya Navratri and is dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth manifestation of Goddess Durga.

Devotees worship her for wisdom, prosperity, spiritual fulfilment and the attainment of siddhis, or divine accomplishments.
