Maha Kumbh: Over 3.7 Million Devotees Take Holy Dip At Triveni Sangam

The Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj continues to witness an immense spiritual gathering as Maha Kumbh progresses, drawing pilgrims, saints, and Kalpvasis in large numbers.

By 8 AM today, over 3.748 million devotees had bathed in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, enhancing the deep religious fervor of the grand congregation.

This includes over 1 million Kalpvasis and 2.748 million pilgrims who arrived early to seek divine blessings.

As per the Uttar Pradesh government data, the total number of bathers since the beginning of Maha Kumbh has surpassed 382 million as of 4 February, highlighting the event’s unparalleled spiritual and cultural significance.

With several weeks remaining, the numbers will likely rise further.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Maha Kumbh today. As per an official statement, he will take a holy dip at the Sangam and offer prayers to Maa Ganga around 11 AM.

Several prominent figures have already participated in the sacred rituals at the Sangam.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with his Cabinet, have taken part in the holy dip.

International personalities such as Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and actress Dakota Johnson visited on Saturday, while Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck took part in the rituals on Tuesday, accompanied by CM Yogi Adityanath.

Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima (13 January), is recognized as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering.

The event will continue until Mahashivratri on 26 February, with millions more expected to take part in the sacred festivities.
