Maha Kumbh 2025: UP’s Security Model Inspires MP Police For Ujjain Kumbh

In a bid to prepare for the 2028 Ujjain Kumbh, senior Madhya Pradesh Police officials visited Prayagraj to study the Uttar Pradesh Police’s robust security and crowd management model for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025. The Yogi Adityanath government’s meticulous preparations have garnered attention nationwide, with UP Police setting new benchmarks in managing massive religious gatherings.

Maha Kumbh Security & Crowd Management

The two-day visit by the Madhya Pradesh delegation included meetings with their UP counterparts to delve into security strategies. Key areas of focus included the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for operational efficiency, countermeasures against cybercrime, and advanced crowd control mechanisms.

The delegation toured crucial locations within the Kumbh Mela area to gain a comprehensive understanding of on-ground preparations.

Assistant Police Commissioner Rajkumar Meena highlighted the delegation’s objective, stating, “Our visit aimed to study Uttar Pradesh Police’s comprehensive arrangements for Maha Kumbh 2025 and incorporate these learnings into our preparations for the Ujjain Kumbh 2028.”

Praise For UP Police’s Model

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of ATS Madhya Pradesh, Tarun Kaushik, commended the efforts of UP Police, emphasizing their innovative approach to traffic management, cybercrime prevention, and the welfare of personnel. “UP Police’s model is exemplary and should be adopted by police forces across the country,” Kaushik remarked.

He further assured that Madhya Pradesh Police would coordinate closely with their UP counterparts to ensure seamless operations during the Ujjain Kumbh.

The delegation, which included Additional Director General (ADG) Umesh Joga, DIG Navneet Bhasin, Deputy Superintendent Bharat Singh Yadav, and Subedar Nivesh Malviya, received detailed briefings on several aspects of security management.

UP Police outlined strategies to maintain law and order, ensure the safety of an estimated 400 million devotees, and handle traffic and crowd control effectively.

Technology & Innovation

During their visit, the Madhya Pradesh officials toured the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Prayagraj. The ICCC serves as a central hub for monitoring and managing the vast operations of Maha Kumbh.

UP Police demonstrated the use of AI to streamline decision-making, along with water police deployment strategies to ensure safety in aquatic zones.

Tarun Kaushik lauded UP Police’s preparations, which have been underway for three years. He stressed the importance of cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh police forces, envisioning the experience for devotees in both Kumbh events.
