Maha Kumbh 2025: Over 40 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip At Triveni Sangam

The sacred confluence of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and the invisible Maa Saraswati at Triveni Sangam has been witnessing a remarkable surge in devotees during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025.

With faith and devotion, saints, Kalpvasis, devotees, and householders continue to flock to the holy site in large numbers. By Friday morning, February 7, the total count of pilgrims who had bathed in the holy waters exceeded 40 crore.

Maha Kumbh Enthusiasm Remains Unwavering

Even after the three significant Amrit Snans (Makar Sankranti, Mauni Amavasya, and Basant Panchami) in Prayagraj, the excitement among the devotees shows no signs of fading.

Devotees from all corners of India and abroad continue to arrive in Prayagraj each day to take the sacred dip. As of 10 AM on February 7, 42.07 lakh people had immersed themselves in the holy waters, including 10 lakh Kalpvasis, alongside saints and devotees from both India and other countries.

With 19 days still left in the grand event, experts predict that the number of bathers may surpass 50 crore by the end of the Maha Kumbh.

Notable Participation from Political and Celebrity Figures

Numerous political leaders, celebrities, and spiritual personalities have joined the devotees in the sacred ritual. Among those who have taken part are PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, along with his cabinet ministers.

Other prominent figures such as Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel also took the holy dip.

Apart from this, Opposition leaders, including SP National President Akhilesh Yadav and former MP Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua,’ along with BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, also participated in the event.

In addition, notable Bollywood stars and sports personalities such as Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Bhagyashree, Milind Soman, Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal, and cricketer Suresh Raina have joined the masses at Triveni Sangam.

Maha Kumbh: A Historic Participation

The turnout on key dates has been extraordinary. On Mauni Amavasya, the highest turnout was recorded with 8 crore devotees, while Makar Sankranti saw 3.5 crore participants. Additionally, more than 2 crore pilgrims took the holy dip on February 1 and January 30.

Paush Purnima witnessed 1.7 crore bathers, and Basant Panchami recorded 2.57 crore devotees. The sheer scale of participation underscores the deep religious significance of the Mahakumbh.
