Maha Kumbh 2025: Faith & Devotion Soar As Pilgrims Count Surpasses 350 Million

The sacred confluence of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and the invisible Maa Saraswati at Prayagraj is witnessing an unprecedented surge of devotion as sages, saints, Kalpvasis, and pilgrims immerse themselves in the spiritual grandeur of Maha Kumbh.

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami’s Amrit Snan, the total number of devotees who have bathed since the event’s commencement has crossed 350 million.

By 8 AM on Monday alone, 6.2 million pilgrims had taken a holy dip at Triveni Sangam, marking a historic milestone. With 23 days remaining, the total count is expected to surpass 500 million.

Spiritual Fervor Among Maha Kumbh Pilgrims Remains Strong

The spiritual fervor in Prayagraj continues unabated, with millions from India and abroad arriving daily to seek divine blessings through the sacred ritual.

On Sunday, 2 February, around 12 million devotees participated in the bathing ritual, pushing the overall count past 350 million by Monday morning.

Among them were 1 million Kalpvasis, saints, and pilgrims from various parts of the world.

A closer look at the numbers reveals that Mauni Amavasya saw the highest turnout, with 80 million devotees taking a dip in the Sangam.

Other significant bathing days included Makar Sankranti with 35 million, followed by over 20 million on 30 January and 1 February, and 17 million on Paush Purnima.

Several prominent figures have also participated in the holy dip, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his cabinet.

Other dignitaries include Governor Anandiben Patel, Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Arjun Ram Meghwal, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Bollywood and sports personalities have also marked their presence at Maha Kumbh. Among them are actors Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Bhagyashree, and Milind Soman, along with poet Kumar Vishwas, cricketer Suresh Raina, wrestler Khali, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, Mamta Kulkarni.

As Maha Kumbh progresses, the unwavering faith and devotion of millions reaffirm its timeless spiritual significance, making it a truly historic gathering.
