Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, PM Narendra Modi will address public rallies in Kerala today.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in a public meeting at Kunnamangalam. Kunnamangalam is a locality in the Alathur constituency of Thrissur District
PM Modi will actively engage in the election campaign for NDA candidates TN Sarasu and Suresh Gopi. Both are contesting in the Alathur and Thrissur constituencies.
Following that, the Prime Minister will visit Kattakkada in Thiruvananthapuram District.
PM Modi will engage in campaigning for V Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrashekar. Both Union Ministers are contesting under the NDA banner in the Attingal and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies.
This marks the PM’s sixth visit to the state this year.
The BJP has yet to secure a Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. The count of MLAs in the state dropped to zero in 2021 from the lone seat it held in 2016.
In the 2021 Kerala assembly elections, contesting 115 out of 140 seats, it garnered 11.3 percent of the total votes but didn’t clinch any seats.
The party’s highest vote share in Kerala was recorded during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, where it managed to secure approximately 13 percent of the total votes cast.
Later in the day, PM Modi will proceed to Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, where he is scheduled to address a public gathering.
