LK Advani’s Daughter Gets Overwhelmed As Her Father Is Going to Be Awarded With Bharat Ratna

Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani will be honored with the country’s highest civilian honor Bharat Ratna at the age of 96. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave this information on social media on Saturday. LK Advani’s Daughter’s daughter Pratibha congratulated him by feeding him sweets at his Delhi residence as the news came out.

Advani’s daughter Pratibha said, “My father was a person of few words throughout his life, but naturally he had tears in his eyes. We are both satisfied and happy that he spent his entire life in the service of the country. It is a big thing for him to be awarded the country’s highest honor at this stage of his life.”

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes the announcement  

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday through a post on X. PM Modi shared his pictures with Mr. Advani as he met the senior BJP leader to congratulate him for the award. On his post on X, he wrote, “I am very happy to share that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour. One of the most respected statesmen of our times, his contribution to the development of India is monumental…”

In another post shared by the Prime Minister, he praised the senior BJP leader and said, “Advani Ji’s decades-long service in public life has been marked by an unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity, setting an exemplary standard in political ethics. He has made unparalleled efforts towards furthering national unity and cultural resurgence. The conferring of the Bharat Ratna on him is a very emotional moment for me. I will always consider it my privilege that I got countless opportunities to interact with him and learn from him.”

50th person to be honored with Bharat Ratna

Let us tell you that Advani is the third leader of BJP to receive Bharat Ratna after former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and founding member of BJP Nana Ji Deshmukh. Apart from this, Advani is the 50th person in the country to be honored with Bharat Ratna. Before Advani, on January 23, it had been announced to give Bharat Ratna (posthumously) to former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur.
