PM Modi inaugurates and lays foundation stone of multiple development projects worth ₹30,500 crore in Jammu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a visit to Jammu on Tuesday, unveiling a series of developmental initiatives exceeding ₹32,000 crore across education, railway, aviation, and road sectors. Among the highlights, he distributed appointment letters to approximately 1,500 new recruits for the Jammu and Kashmir government.
During the visit, the Prime Minister laid the cornerstone for a state-of-the-art terminal building at Jammu Airport, further enhancing the region’s air connectivity.
Additionally, he dedicated several key rail projects in Jammu and Kashmir, including the inauguration of the Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan new rail line spanning 48 kilometers and the electrification of the Baramulla-Sringar-Banihal-Sangaldan section, stretching over 185.66 kilometers.
In a significant milestone, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the inaugural run of the first Electric Train in the valley and initiated a new train service between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station, bolstering transportation infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
