At Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday, the land-for-job case was discussed. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) requested additional time to submit the final chargesheet. The next hearing for the case is scheduled for 29 May. A representative from the CBI mentioned that the CBI Director is currently occupied, thus causing a delay in filing the final chargesheet.
On March 6, the CBI filed a third supplementary chargesheet in this case, naming Bhola Yadav as the accused. Bhola Yadav served as the personal secretary of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
According to the supplementary chargesheet submitted by the CBI, Bhola Yadav was involved in overseeing all related activities and issuing directives to officials. The CBI has also submitted evidence retrieved from Bhola Yadav’s computer in connection with this matter.
It is notable that the CBI had filed a case against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and others.
Several members of the Lalu Prasad Yadav family have been implicated in this case, and they have been granted bail by the court.
Additionally, the investigation agency has accused several others in this case, including Bhola Yadav, who was formerly the secretary to the then Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Earlier, in February, the court had granted bail to several accused in this case. Among those who obtained bail were former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, RJD MP Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav, among others. This case pertains to the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister.
Allegations suggest that jobs were provided in the railways in exchange for land at nominal rates. Several members of the Lalu family are under scrutiny by investigating agencies. Both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for extensive questioning.
