Ladakh IT Turnaround Stories Dominate Bhubaneswar 11th Digital Transformation Conclave

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 16: Amit Sharma, Secretary of Information Technology, Union Territory of Ladakh shared amazing turnaround stories in digital transformation over the last four years which help citizens residing across Leh and Kargil districts of the UT along with vision sharing for an exponential growth scenario over the next couple of years. All this and more happened in the 11th Digital Conclave organized by the Government of Odisha in the capital city of Bhubaneswar which saw the elite band of participation from the IT Industry, top bureaucrats, especially IT Secretaries from different states/UTs of the nation, and even an exhibition of top IT products/services which have been innovative and launched in Bharat over the last few months.

Amit Sharma, Secretary IT Ladakh happened to share several turnaround success stories in his eloquent manner of speech during first important session, held after the inaugural ceremony, wherein he shared best successful models implemented in eGovernance domain, initially beginning from J&K turnarounds, wherein he IT Secretary like making both Secretariats of Jammu and Srinagar live / functional throughout the year with successful implementation of e-Office in all departments of the Government and successful Digitization of land records of all twenty districts there, followed by success stories sharing from Ladakh including state-of-the-art Data Centre coming-up soon in Leh, State Wide Area Network to connect all blocks of Ladakh, e-Office success stories in UT, implementation of CRS for e-receipts, online interventions for overhauling working of Works departments, E-Buses initiative by SIDCO Ladakh, Online Public Grievance System, Online RTI Filing and even upcoming ambitious projects like implementation of Public Wi Fi, Data Digitization, upcoming Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) for natural calamity alerts, etc. which are coming-up, as per the holistic vision and focus towards public welfare shared by Lieutenant Governor Brig Dr B.D Mishra and Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal in the UT of Ladakh.

The investors and stakeholders present in the Digital Transformation Conclave, representing top IT global giants expressed keen interest in Amit Sharma, IT Secretary Ladakh for contributing to the ongoing growth story of this Union Territory towards which he expressed that a red-carpet welcome awaits them in Ladakh wherein he further advised them to share their proposals in their expertise domains with the UT Administration at the earliest.

In the final remarks during the Conclave, Amit Sharma, IT Secretary Ladakh offered that the next in this series of Annual Awards and IT Conclave can be held in Ladakh UT towards which the organizers Gov Connect Group willingly agreed to and consequently, an invite was extended by Amit from the dice to all state/UT IT Secretaries and IT top corporates to participate in same with full zeal and preparation which can be held at Leh in about two months’ time from now.

Before leaving, IT Secretary Ladakh Amit Sharma was felicitated by the organizers for sharing his valuable thoughts in this important one-day Digital Transformation Conclave held at Bhubaneswar while suggesting several innovative disruptive interventions, which were noted down by the IT industry teams to study them and provision customized solutions to different states/UTs soon.
