Kaushambi : Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya fired back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that no one can eliminate reservation till (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi remains alive. On Tuesday, the Congress leader addressed an election rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district, criticising the BJP administration on the topic of employment and education reservations for impoverished parts of society.
They (the BJP) claim they are not against reservations. If you (statement on dispensation) are not against reservations, then why are you privatizing the public sector, including railways? Why did you establish the Agniveer plan (for short-term recruiting in armed forces)? Gandhi said that all of these works were against the reservation system.
The Wayanad MP also warned that if the BJP comes to power at the Centre, it will rip up and discard the Constitution, which provides rights to the poor, Dalits, scheduled tribes, and other backward sections. Maurya attacked the Gandhi family, claiming that they attempted but failed to remove reservation during their governments.
“The reservation could not be ended by his father (former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi), grandmother Indira Gandhi, and her father (former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru). No one can put an end to it until Narendra Modi remains alive,” the BJP leader stated. He highlighted that the BJP respects the principles of Dr. BR Ambedkar, one of the primary architects of the Indian Constitution, and adheres to it.
Maurya, who was alongside BJP MP Vinod Sonkar when he submitted his candidacy for Kaushambi Lok Sabha seat, believes the BJP would win all 80 seats in the state in the polls.
A Modi wave occurred in 2014, followed by a Modi storm in 2019, and a Modi tsunami storm in 2024. We will win all of the Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, including Kaushambi, by a large majority, according to the state’s deputy chief minister.
