Keralam CM VD Satheesan To Meet PM Modi In First Delhi Visit After Taking Office

Keralam Chief Minister VD Satheesan will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday for his first official interaction after taking office.

The meeting comes after the Congress-led UDF’s victory in the Keralam Assembly elections and is expected to focus on the state’s development priorities, financial assistance and key pending issues.

Later, Satheesan will also meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss Keralam’s financial and development needs.

Ahead of the visit, CM Satheesan held discussions with senior Congress leaders in Delhi. He first met Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, followed by Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge.

The Keralam Chief Minister also met senior party leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

According to party sources, CM Satheesan thanked the Congress leadership for its support during the Assembly elections, while discussions also took place on organisational matters and the party’s future political strategy in the state.

Satheesan’s first visit to Delhi after becoming Chief Minister received an enthusiastic response from supporters and party workers. Students and well-wishers gathered at Keralam House late into the night to welcome him to the national capital.

The Chief Minister interacted with visitors and posed for photographs, creating a celebratory atmosphere during his visit.

The Congress-led UDF registered a decisive victory in the Keralam Assembly elections under Satheesan’s leadership.

The alliance secured 102 seats, while the Left Front’s tally dropped sharply to 35 seats. The BJP also managed to reopen its account in the state by winning three seats.

VD Satheesan, along with 20 Cabinet Ministers, was sworn in as Keralam Chief Minister on May 18.
