Karnataka Polls: BJP’s Manifesto Promises To Implement UCC, Provide Free Gas Cylinders, Improvise Health Sectors

BJP is ready to make its stand in the battleground of the upcoming Karnataka election. The ruling BJP promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Karnataka, and several benefits and schemes in its election manifesto released today i.e. on Monday.

JP Nadda releases BJP’s manifesto for Karnataka polls

BJP Praja Pranalike, the document was released in Bengaluru by the party’s national president JP Nadda. At the event, several veteran BJP leaders including Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai, and BS Yediyurappa were also present on the occasion, among others.

According to the BJP’s manifesto, “We will implement the UCC in Karnataka based on the recommendations given by a high-level committee which is to be constituted for the purpose.”

Implementation of Uniform Civil Code

While addressing the gathering, BJP national party president JP Nadda said, “The Constitution (of India) allows us to move in the direction of Uniform Civil Code.’Justice to all; appeasement to none is our policy.”

Also, the party promised the introduction of the National Register of Citizens and “speedy deportation of all illegal migrants” in its manifesto.

The BJP said it would provide three free cooking gas cylinders to all BPL families — one each during the months of ‘Yugadi’, ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ and ‘Deepavali’.

It also promised to launch the ‘Poshane’ scheme through which every BPL household will be provided with half a litre ‘Nandini’ milk every day and five kg ‘Shri Anna – Siri dhanya’ through monthly ration kits.

“We will set up an ‘Atal Aahara Kendra’ in every ward of every municipal corporation in the State to provide affordable, quality and healthy food across the State”, the party said in its manifesto.

A promise of improvising ‘ease of living’

Moreover, the party has promised to improve the “ease of living” for apartment residents in Bengaluru through a consultative committee. It has said that it will launch an initiative to drive collaboration between small and medium-sized industries and industrial training institutes. At the school level, the party has promised a plan under which the state government will team up with eminent individuals and institutions for an up gradation of state-run schools.

A major help for the destitute, as the manifesto will also provide identification of 10 lakh housing sites for the homeless.

BJP to work on several sectors

The manifesto also promised to work on the health, infrastructure sectors and more.

In order to boost the tourism sector within the state, BJP’s manifesto promised a Rs 1,500 crore plan to develop several circuits and corridors to enhance Karnataka.

This time, BJP also came with a big plan for farmers, the party has promised a Rs 30,000 crore fund to set up micro cold storage facilities, agro-processing units in every gram panchayat and modernisation of agricultural produce committees.
