Siddaramaiah with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi
On Friday, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at 10, Janpath, Delhi.
Earlier on May 24, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah came to Delhi to meet with Congress’s high command and leaders to discuss cabinet expansion.
Siddaramaiah met with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi on Thursday. He was accompanied by minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan and MLA Byrathi Suresh.
MB Patil tweeted, “AICC General Secretary Mrs. @priyankagandhi @siddaramaiah Mr.@irobertvadra met with Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. @siddaramaiah in New Delhi. Minister Mr. @BZZameerAhmed was accompanied by MLA Mr. @byrathi_suresh”, through his official Twitter handle.
When asked about cabinet expansion, deputy chief minister and KPCC chief DK Shvakumar said that it will be informed by the Chief Minister and AICC.
On May 18, CM Siddaramaiah was overwhelmingly elected as the CLP leader in Karnataka after the Congress party finalized their CM candidate following a landslide victory in Karnataka.
On May 20, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar were sworn in as chief minister and deputy chief minister respectively along with eight cabinet ministers.
Congress party won 135 seats in the 224-member Karnataka Assembly elections on May 10, defeating the ruling BJP, which got 66 seats from its sole southern state.
