Kangana Ranaut Fires Back at Himachal Minister, Says ‘This Isn’t Your Ancestral Estate’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and actress Kangana Ranaut launched a scathing attack on Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh, asserting her position amidst political confrontation. Ranaut, who is contesting from the Mandi seat in the Lok Sabha election, vehemently dismissed Singh’s attempts to intimidate her, declaring that she cannot be bullied as if she were on his ancestral estate.

Addressing a rally in Mandi, Ranaut asserted, “This is not your forefathers’ kingdom where you can intimidate me and send me packing.” She emphasized the changing landscape of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, where individuals from humble backgrounds, like the tea-seller-turned-Prime Minister, rise to prominence and serve as exemplary figures.

Ranaut’s remarks came in response to Singh’s characterization of her as the “queen of controversies,” with the insinuation that her statements would raise doubts among the public. Singh’s reference to Ranaut’s reported comments on beef-eating prompted her to retort, expressing hope that she returns to Bollywood purified by the spiritual aura of Himachal Pradesh, her home state, as she allegedly lacks understanding of its people.

Labelling both Rahul Gandhi and Vikramaditya Singh as ‘Pappu,’ Ranaut derided Singh as a “big liar” and a “turncoat,” questioning his credibility when even the “big Pappu” talks about undermining women empowerment.

Challenging Singh’s credentials, Ranaut dared him to enact even a single scene from her films, highlighting her own rise in the film industry without familial support. She reiterated her commitment to politics and public service, challenging Singh to match her achievements in the cinematic realm.

Ranaut concluded by recounting her experiences of facing threats and intimidation in the film industry, particularly from those with entrenched familial and dynastic interests. She asserted her resilience in the face of adversity, asserting that neither threats nor coercion could deter her from her path.
