Jammu & Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha Directs Army To Strengthen Efforts After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has instructed Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to take immediate action to bring the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack to justice.

He also called for intensified efforts to dismantle the infrastructure and ecosystem of terrorism in the region.

In their meeting on Friday, Sinha expressed that the nation has unwavering faith in the army, police, and CAPFs.

He urged these forces to collaborate effectively to identify and neutralise the individuals responsible for the Pahalgam attack, including their enablers and OGWs.

Sinha reiterated, “Every perpetrator and supporter of the Pahalgam terror attack, whatever his location or affiliation, must hunted and they must pay the heavy price for the cowardly and dastardly act against our citizens.”

The meeting also included a review of the current security measures, with discussions on both short-term and long-term strategies.

Senior military officials, including GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, and GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, were present for the discussions.

General Dwivedi arrived in Srinagar to assess the situation and received a briefing from the 15 Corps Commander on the current security status.

He met with senior army commanders in the Kashmir Valley and other security agency officials to discuss ongoing efforts.

The Army Chief also received a briefing on the operations against terrorists and the ongoing ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army along the Line of Control (LoC).

Following the deadly attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 people lost their lives, the Indian Army has been placed on high alert and has initiated several search operations to neutralise the terrorists involved.
