‘Jaanta Raja’ Mega Play On Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Opens In Ghaziabad

The grand theatrical production ‘Jaanta Raja’, based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, opened at Suncity in Ghaziabad on Wednesday.

Artists from Maharashtra began the performance with chants of ‘Jai Jai Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji’, filling the venue with energy.

The programme opened with a Marathi prayer to Lord Ganesha. Artists used elephants, horses and powerful performances to recreate 16th-century India.

An emotional scene showed Shivaji Maharaj’s mother, Jijabai, praying to Goddess Tulja Bhavani for freedom from the Mughal Empire.

Acharya Sumeshwaranand Ji Maharaj, secretary of the Agni Akhara, and former governor Kalraj Mishra inaugurated the event. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sampark Pramukh Ramlal also attended.

Ramlal said India had long upheld global spiritual and cultural traditions. He described Sanatan culture as inclusive and service-oriented.

He praised Divya Prem Sewa Mission and its president, Dr Ashish Gautam, for promoting these values and inspiring young people through service.

Mishra congratulated the mission and Gautam for organising the production to strengthen patriotic sentiment across Delhi-NCR.

The performances will continue until October 28. Thousands of young people, schoolchildren and residents are expected to attend.

Former President Ram Nath Kovind, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other dignitaries to attend the event.

Gautam said Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals could guide young people through today’s challenging global environment. He urged parents to encourage their children to follow the teachings of Shivaji Maharaj, Jijabai and Samarth Guru Ramdas.

Senior journalist Deepak Chaurasia attended the opening with his family. BJP metropolitan president Mayank Goyal, MLA Nand Kishore Gurjar and Divya Prem Sewa Mission national coordinator Sanjay Chaturvedi were among the other attendees.
