A 20-year-old man allegedly killed an E-kart delivery partner who arrived to deliver an iPhone to his home in the Hassan region of Karnataka. The body was kept at the accused’s home for four days before being burned near a train station.
Hemanth Dutt of Ariskere Town in Hassan, the accused, attacked the delivery man inside his home because he lacked the funds to pay for an iPhone he had ordered online. An investigation was started after a body with burn marks was discovered on February 11 close to the Anchkoppal Train station, bringing the situation to light.
During the investigation, Hemanth Naik, a 23-year-old employee of E-Kart Express, had gone on February 7 to deliver a used iPhone that Hemant Dutta had ordered close to Lakshmipura Layout.
Hemant killed Naik with a knife when he asked Rs 46,000 for the order and kept the body at his house for four days.
Afterward, he carried the body on his bike in a gunny bag and burned it close to the train station. On his way to burn the body, the accused was seen in the CCTV tape riding his bike while carrying the dead body.
After tracking the CCTV footage, the officers arrested the man.
