Intensified Search Operations In Baramulla Following Deadly Terrorist Attack

Early Friday morning, search operations continued in Baramulla, Kashmir, following a deadly firefight that erupted between Indian Army personnel and terrorists last night.

The attack resulted in the tragic deaths of two Indian Army soldiers and two civilian porters, with one soldier and one porter currently hospitalized with injuries.

The confrontation began when terrorists targeted a military vehicle, prompting a swift response from the Indian Army.

In an initial update posted on X, the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps confirmed, “A brief firefight took place between Indian Army and terrorists in general area Butapathri, Baramulla.”

“During the firefight two soldiers and two porters have suffered injuries and have been evacuated for medical care,” the Chinar Corps added.

Rising Tensions In The Region

The violence in Baramulla is part of a concerning trend of escalating attacks in the Kashmir Valley.

Earlier the same day, another incident occurred in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district, where terrorists shot and injured a labourer named Pritam Singh from Uttar Pradesh.

Local authorities have condemned the attacks and are working to provide support to affected families.

This recent flare-up of violence follows a deadly assault on 20 October, when a terrorist attack on a tunnel construction site along the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Ganderbal district resulted in the deaths of a doctor and six construction workers.

Such incidents have raised alarm over the safety of both military personnel and civilians in the region.

Government & Community Response

The series of attacks has sparked outrage among local communities and raised questions about security measures in place to protect civilians and service workers in the conflict-ridden area.

Government officials have vowed to enhance security protocols and increase military presence in sensitive regions to prevent further violence.

Meanwhile, authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as search operations continue.

The Indian Army assures the public of its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the valley, pledging to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens and personnel.

The situation remains tense, and further updates are underway as authorities work to bring the situation under control and address the community’s concerns.
