Delhi High Court has directed Delhi Women Commission to provide separate accommodation to the girl victim of the Unnao rape case. Justice Subramaniam Prasad said that after the marriage of the rape victim and the birth of her child, she should be provided a separate residence within four weeks.
Former UP BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been convicted in the same case. In this case, an order has been given to provide accommodation and security in Delhi to the rape victim and her family in view of the danger. The rent for the accommodation has to be borne by the Uttar Pradesh government. The High Court ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to continue bearing the house rent. The court said that the accommodation facility for the rape victim girl and her family will not be removed without the court’s order.

In fact, the rape victim girl had filed a petition in the High Court to provide separate accommodation after her marriage and the birth of the child. On March 13, 2020, Tis Hazari Court sentenced seven accused, including Kuldeep Singh Sengar, to ten years of imprisonment each in the case of the murder of the father of the Unnao rape victim. The court had also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh each on everyone. Tis Hazari Court had said that this amount of fine would be given to the victim girl.
