Indore Bus Mishap Leaves One Woman Dead And 15 Injured

One woman died and 15 persons were injured after a private passenger bus they were traveling in fell off a culvert in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Sunday, police said.

The incident occurred near Baigram village in the afternoon, an official said.

“The bus coming to Indore from Khandwa fell off a culvert after its driver lost control over it,” Simrol police station in-charge Mohan Singh said.
A woman passenger sitting in the front seat died on the spot while 15 others were injured, he said.

According to Singh, the condition of three of the injured persons is critical and they have been referred to the M Y Hospital in Indore for treatment.

As per the passengers of the bus, the bus was completely packed and around fifty people were present in it. Police reached within no time following the information about the incident.

At the same time, the nearby villagers also arrived at the place of the accident were engaged in evacuating the injured from the bus which was upside down. More than a hundred ambulances also rushed to the spot.

Passengers also informed that it was the driver’s mistake who running the bus at high speed on the ghat section. He might fail to understand the safe distance while turning the bus on the curve and lost control of the vehicle. Then subsequently, the bus went off-road falling into the nearby ditch.
