Army’s Jaswant Baghel has won the 38th All India Indira Marathon Competition. Army’s B Srinu stood second and Anil Kumar of Prayagraj stood third. The race started at 6.30. Jaswant Singh crossed the finish line at 8.42. All three winners are army personnel. For the first time Jaswant Baghel has participated in the marathon and marched towards victory.
Jaswant completed the race in two hours, 21 minutes and 50 seconds, followed by B Siranu of Army Pune, he took two hours, 21 minutes and 56 seconds and bagged second position, followed by Anil Kumar Singh completed his race in two hours, 22 minutes and 21 seconds, and secured third position.
Similarly, the winner in the women’s category, Reenu Kumari, is a resident of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and is posted in CISF in Hisar, Haryana. Nutan, who secured second place, is a resident of Shahdara, Delhi. Shipra Kumari, who secured the third position, is a resident of Chandpur Salori in Prayagraj city.
Earlier, the 38th All India Prize Money Indira Marathon started from Anand Bhawan on Sunday. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Girish Chandra Yadav released balloons in the sky and gave the green signal to the runners to run.
This year 394 runners participated in the marathon, which includes 345 male and 49 female runners. At the same time, this time the number of outside runners has also increased in the marathon.
The winner of this 42.195 kilometer long marathon will get Rs 2 lakh. The second prize will get Rs 1 lakh and the third place winner will get Rs 75 thousand. Apart from this, the runners finishing fourth to 14th will get a consolation prize of Rs 10,000 each.
