On Wednesday, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, emphasised the significant role played by the Narendra Modi-led Central government in integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into the Indian ethos.
He highlighted initiatives such as Skill India and Start-up India have contributed to the development of India as the third-largest start-up ecosystem globally. This ecosystem has successfully nurtured 100 Unicorns and generated substantial employment opportunities over the past nine years under the government’s leadership.
Shah shared his thoughts on Twitter, noting the power of the nation’s youth and their remarkable achievements across various domains. He mentioned that the Modi government has been transforming education and creating opportunities and that over 6.76 crore people were employed in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector between 2017 and 2023.
The Minister stated that 1.21 crore people benefitted under PM Rozgar Protsahan Yojana, over 6.24 crore jobs were created in the digital economy from 2014 to 2019 and 1.12 crore employment were generated through Mudra Yojana between 2015 and 2018.
He also noted that over 5.93 crore persons were trained under PMGDISHA (Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan) till March 2023, 2.83 crore youth trained under the Skill India mission. As per Shah, there is a 118.2 per cent increase in monthly wages due to PM Kaushal Vikash Yojana.
