India’s First International Train Services To Begin SOON! Know What Is The Destination

Development of Indian railways has been a key concern of the current government. The development is not just limited to the Indian National borders. Indian railways will now take you across Indian borders. Railways is all set to start international train services between India and Bhutan. The train between the two neighbours would run out of Assam in India and be designed to boost tourism between the two countries. Bhutan is “very keen” to enhance points for the movement of tourists, according to India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who was speaking about the ongoing development in the topic.

External Affairs Minister talks about the international train project

EAM Dr. S Jaishankar said, “We are in talks on the Rail link between Bhutan and Assam, Bhutan is very keen to open more points for tourists and it is very good for Assam.”

He also disclosed that India is working to improve connectivity with Bangladesh and Nepal. Jaishankar talked about the improved border infrastructure that has been put in place over the past nine years, notably along the border with China.

Bhutan’s side of the story

The survey to begin building the railway link between India and Bhutan was previously claimed by Bhutanese media to have been finished in April 2023. The railway would run between Kokrajar in India’s Assam and Gelephu in Bhutan. The Indian government will fund the development of this 57-km railway link, which is anticipated to be finished in 2026. It should be mentioned that the Northeastern Frontier (NF) Railways will run the train on this route.

Indian Railways development is the FOCUS

This is the second development in Indian Railways that has emerged in the past few days. Just recently, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the reconstruction of 508 railway stations across different part of the nation. And here is the next project with the heart and soul of transportation in India.
