The growing momentum around technology and artificial intelligence in India is now resonating far beyond its borders. At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, global leaders gathered to discuss the future of AI, but much of the spotlight was on Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic.
Often regarded as one of the leading figures of the AI revolution, Amodei’s remarks about India captured attention and reflected how the world is increasingly viewing the country’s role in the AI ecosystem.
Addressing the summit, Amodei said he had been in India for the past few days, meeting builders and major entrepreneurs. He noted that the level of enthusiasm and ambition he witnessed was exceptional.
“This energy and ambition that we see in this hall and across India is incredible. Over the last few days, I’ve met Indian builders and enterprises, and you can clearly feel the energy of building together here, something I haven’t experienced anywhere else,” he said.
His comments drew strong reactions from participants, reinforcing the perception of India as a rising force in the global AI landscape.
Amodei’s statement stands out because foreign technology leaders have often viewed India primarily as a large consumer market. In contrast, he acknowledged India as a genuine innovation hub.
According to him, the drive among Indian developers to create and experiment could shape the next phase of AI’s evolution.
The atmosphere at the summit reflected this shift. From startups to large corporations, stakeholders across sectors are actively crafting AI strategies, signalling that India aims not merely to follow global trends but to help define them.
