The Indian-flagged LPG tanker Shivalik reached Mundra Port on Monday after transporting liquefied petroleum gas from Qatar.
The ship carried nearly 45,000 metric tonnes of LPG and completed its journey after navigating the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Officials said the vessel’s safe arrival has helped ease concerns about energy shipments travelling through the region.
Authorities confirmed that two Indian-flagged LPG vessels, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, transported around 92,700 metric tonnes of LPG to India. Both ships belong to the Shipping Corporation of India.
Shivalik docked at Mundra Port at around 5 PM, while the second tanker, Nanda Devi, will reach Kandla Port early on Tuesday morning.
Officials stated that all Indian sailors working in the Persian Gulf region remain safe, with no incidents reported so far.
According to government data, 22 Indian-flagged ships were operating west of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, carrying a total of 611 Indian crew members.
A separate vessel, Jag Laadki, which is transporting around 81,000 tonnes of crude oil from the United Arab Emirates, is currently sailing towards Mundra Port.
Authorities confirmed that both the ship and its crew remain safe.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors, facilitating nearly 20 per cent of global oil and gas exports.
With tensions persisting in the region, authorities continue to track vessel movements closely while major ports across India assist shipping companies and cargo operators to ensure uninterrupted maritime operations.
