The culmination of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections is heralding intense anticipation as the nation awaits the verdict.
At 8 AM today, the counting of votes commences amidst stringent security measures deployed across all counting centers.
The counting process will start with scrutinizing postal ballots.
Anticipation is rife, especially considering the projections made by numerous pollsters foreseeing a triumphant third consecutive term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Should these projections materialize, Prime Minister Modi would etch his name alongside the likes of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, becoming only the second leader in India’s history to clinch three straight terms as the country’s premier.
Exit Polls, conducted immediately after the conclusion of the seventh and final phase of polling, have painted a picture of dominance for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Approximately seven Exit Polls have predicted a staggering 350-370 seats for the BJP-led NDA out of the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Of particular note are the findings of three Exit Polls, India Today-My Axis India, India TV-CNX, and News24-Todays Chanakya suggesting that the NDA could potentially secure over 400 seats, signifying a landslide victory.
Furthermore, Exit Polls have indicated a substantial BJP triumph in Congress-ruled Karnataka.
The India TV-CNX poll has even hinted at a sweeping victory for the Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the NDA in Andhra Pradesh.
While Prime Minister Modi and the BJP exude confidence in clinching a historic win, the Congress and its allies are not conceding defeat.
The INDIA bloc, comprising over 25 opposition parties, is banking on securing more than 295 seats, as per their claims.
In preparation for the counting day, opposition parties have instructed their counting agents to meticulously oversee the process, emphasizing the significance of obtaining Form 17C, which contains the tally of votes registered at each polling station.
Tuesday will witness the unfolding of not just the Lok Sabha election results but also the tallying of votes for the Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, alongside by-elections in various Assembly constituencies.
The general elections, conducted in seven phases spanning from 19 April to 1 June, have captured the attention and fervor of the nation, now eagerly awaiting the momentous verdict that will shape the political landscape for years to come.
