Incubation Centre Approved In Principle At RJIT Tekanpur; Drone Lab Inauguration To Boost Student Innovation

In a landmark move for technical education and innovation, Rustamji Institute of Technology (RJIT), Tekanpur, witnessed the inauguration of a Drone Technology Lab by Professor Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

During his visit, Prof Karandikar interacted with students, reviewed their innovation projects, and encouraged them to embrace emerging technologies.

Highlighting the Ministry’s recent initiatives, Prof Karandikar spoke about Quantum Computing and the Advanced National Research Foundation (ANRF).

Significantly, he also gave in-principle approval for establishing an Incubation Centre at RJIT Tekanpur — a major boost to nurture student-led innovations and research.

Dr Shamsher Singh, IPS, Additional Director General and Director of BSF Academy, Tekanpur, who also serves as Vice Chairman of RJIT, graced the event.

Congratulating students and faculty, Dr Singh remarked, “This visit marks not just an academic achievement, but a historic moment that brings national recognition to the creativity, research skills, and professional excellence of our students.”

RJIT’s Chief Administrator, AK Arya, DIG, presented an overview of the institute’s academic and technical milestones, while Principal Dr Prashant Jain outlined future plans and research initiatives.

In line with its vision to become a hub of world-class technical education and research, RJIT is planning infrastructure expansion in the coming years.

The newly inaugurated Drone Lab, along with the upcoming Incubation Centre, is expected to empower students to transform their ideas into real-world solutions and startups.

These efforts not only align with national priorities for innovation and self-reliance but also aim to make RJIT a leading centre for cutting-edge research and industry-driven education. Such initiatives could truly propel India’s technical education to new heights.
