Unprovoked gunfire was used by Pakistani Rangers near the international boundary.
Unprovoked shooting by Pakistani Rangers at the international boundary in the Ramgarh sector of Sambha district in Jammu & Kashmir resulted in the death of a BSF personnel. The event happened on the night of November 8–9 in between, and the Border Security Force personnel stationed in the area responded quickly.
“During night intervening 8/9 Nov 2023, Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing in Ramgarh area which was befittingly responded to by BSF troops,” the BSP stated in a statement.

The BSF jawan was shot, and he was sent right away to a local hospital to receive treatment. One BSF jawan was hurt in a Pakistani shooting and came to the Ramgarh Community Health Centre Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, for treatment at around one in the morning, according to PTI.
After that, he was transferred to the GMC Hospital in Jammu, where he eventually passed away from his wounds. The residents of the Ramgarh area fled into bunkers in fear as Pakistani Rangers opened fire without warning. The Pakistani Rangers have broken the ceasefire six times total since the two parties signed the accord on February 25, 2021, and this is their third infraction in the last 24 days along the IB on the Jammu frontier.
Two BSF jawans and a woman were injured on October 28, when Pakistan Rangers opened fire and shelled for about seven hours. In the Arnia sector on October 17, two BSF troops suffered injuries as a result of Pakistan Rangers fire without warning.
During flag discussions at the commandant level, the BSF protested the two instances of unprovoked cross-border firing with the Pakistan Rangers.
