HM Amit Shah Opens Swadeshotsav 2025 In Ahmedabad To Promote Indigenous Innovation

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated Swadeshotsav 2025 on Friday at the Gujarat University Ground in Ahmedabad’s Navrangpura.

The event has been organised by the Swarnim Jagran Manch and the Swarnim Bharat Varsh Foundation to promote India’s indigenous industry, cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader vision of building an Atmanirbhar and developed India through native knowledge, innovation and self-reliance.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi also attended the inaugural ceremony.

Following the inauguration, Amit Shah opened the Swanubhuti Exhibition, which displays India’s swadeshi capabilities across diverse sectors.

The five-day expo, running from 5 to 9 December, features a wide range of seminars designed to foster awareness, creativity and innovation.

The opening day hosted the Environment Resolution Summit. On 6 December, the event will spotlight Startup Udaan 2025 and the Swadeshi Sankalp Abhiyan.

On 7 December, discussions will focus on Matrushakti (women’s empowerment) and cybersecurity awareness.

The organisers have scheduled sessions on Ayurveda, Wellness, and Intellectual Property Rights for 8 December, while the final day will focus on natural and organic farming.

Each evening, visitors will also enjoy cultural programmes from 7 PM to 10 PM, offering a blend of art, tradition and swadeshi expression.

Held on the expansive grounds of Gujarat University, the festival aims to promote indigenous products, knowledge-sharing, and interactive learning, drawing participation from scholars, entrepreneurs, innovators and citizens.

Amit Shah Inaugurates Second Edition of Earth Summit

Separately, Amit Shah also inaugurated the two-day Earth Summit 2025–26 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Jointly organised by NABARD and the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the summit included a large-scale expo that was opened by the dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said that the three-part Earth Summit series aims to transform India’s rural economy into the strongest pillar of the nation.

He emphasised that hosting the second edition in Gujarat holds symbolic significance because Mahatma Gandhi long stressed that India’s rural heartland must drive national development.

Shah stated that previous governments neglected agriculture, animal husbandry and cooperation — the three core pillars of rural development — for decades after Independence.

He affirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership since 2014 has revitalised all three sectors.

He added that the combined budget of the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture and Cooperation has grown threefold, from ₹1.02 lakh crore in 2014 to more than ₹3.15 lakh crore in 2025–26, strengthening the foundation of rural India.
