HM Amit Shah Begins Two-Day Uttarakhand Tour, Emphasis On Spirituality, Culture And Public Welfare

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will commence a two-day official visit to Uttarakhand on Wednesday, during which he will participate in several prominent religious, cultural and social programmes in Rishikesh and Haridwar.

The hill state considers the tour important, as it reflects the government’s broader approach to inclusive growth rooted in India’s spiritual and cultural ethos.

On the first day, HM Amit Shah will attend a key cultural event in Rishikesh. He will arrive at Gita Bhavan in Swargashram at 2:45 PM and take part in the release ceremony of the centenary edition of Kalyan, the widely respected monthly magazine published by Gita Press.

For decades, Kalyan has served as a medium for disseminating Indian traditions, ethical values and religious thought not only within the country but also internationally.

During the programme, the Union Minister is expected to speak about the historic role played by Gita Press and acknowledge its century-long contribution to society. His presence at the event highlights the lasting cultural and spiritual relevance of the institution.

Focus on Healthcare in Haridwar

On Thursday, January 22, HM Amit Shah will proceed to Haridwar, beginning his engagements at 10:00 AM with a visit to Maharshi Dayanand Gram at Patanjali Yogpeeth. There, he will formally inaugurate the Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital.

The newly established hospital will strengthen medical infrastructure in the region by providing advanced emergency and critical care services. It will play a crucial role in ensuring timely treatment for critically ill patients and meeting the healthcare needs of both residents and visiting pilgrims.

Following the hospital inauguration, the Union Minister will reach Gayatri Teerth Shantikunj at 10:45 AM, where he will offer prayers at the Akhanda Jyoti. He will also interact with members of the Gayatri Parivar, recognising their influence in the fields of spirituality, social service and national character-building.

Later in the day, HM Amit Shah will attend a large public gathering at Bairagi Island in Haridwar, organised to mark the birth centenary of Param Vandaniya Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and the Akhanda Deep Centenary Year.

The ‘Centenary Year Celebration 2026’ will attract devotees and eminent personalities from India and abroad.

During his address, HM Shah is likely to praise the Gayatri Parivar for its long-standing contribution to social transformation and spiritual consciousness, reinforcing the message of values-based development and collective national progress.
