Historic Push For Rajasthan: PM Modi To Inaugurate Projects Worth ₹1.08 Lakh Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara on Thursday to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth ₹1.08 lakh crore.

The highlight of the event is the launch of the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project, expected to play a transformative role in strengthening India’s energy sector.

In addition, the Prime Minister will virtually flag off two Vande Bharat trains – from Bikaner and Jodhpur to Delhi – along with the Udaipur–Chandigarh Express, improving rail connectivity for the state.

This visit marks PM Modi’s 16th trip to Rajasthan in just 22 months since the Bhajanlal Sharma-led BJP government assumed office in December 2023.

Officials note that his repeated visits underline the state’s growing political and developmental significance.

During previous visits, the Prime Minister attended the Rajasthan High Court’s Platinum Jubilee in Jodhpur, where he launched the e-Seva Quick App (August 2024), and laid foundations for Rising Rajasthan and the ERCP Phase-I (December 2024). His May 2025 trip to Bikaner was the first following Operation Sindoor.

Energy and Infrastructure Push

At the Banswara event, PM Modi will lay the foundation for several mega projects, including the ₹42,000 crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project.

In Bikaner, a 590 MW renewable energy project worth ₹8,500 crore will also begin.

The government will invest ₹13,183 crore in 15.5 GW of power transmission lines across Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Nagaur, and Bikaner.

The government will launch 15 drinking water projects worth ₹5,884 crore across 11 districts, including Banswara, Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Sawai Madhopur. It will also enhance connectivity by building two flyovers, a bridge over the Banas River, and 119 Atal Pragati Paths in Bharatpur at a cost of ₹878 crore

Major Inaugurations

The Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,400 MW of solar power projects and the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi, developed at a cost of ₹10,710 crore.

The government will launch 895 MW decentralised solar plants under the PM KUSUM-C scheme, worth ₹3,132 crore.

It will also inaugurate irrigation projects worth ₹2,365 crore, including the Isarda Dam and Dholpur Lift, and open seven road projects across Barmer, Ajmer, Udaipur, and other districts, valued at ₹1,758 crore.

Urban infrastructure will see an upgrade through sewerage and water supply projects in Didwana-Kuchaman and Jhunjhunu, valued at ₹226 crore.

The government will dedicate to the public an IT Development and e-Governance Centre worth ₹140 crore and a new 250-bed hospital at RBM Hospital in Bharatpur, built at a cost of ₹128 crore.

With these announcements, Prime Minister Modi is set to give Rajasthan a significant push in infrastructure, renewable energy, irrigation, and connectivity.

These projects not only strengthen the state’s developmental roadmap but also reinforce its role as a key player in India’s growth story.
