The trend of arguing and delivering judgment in Hindi is continuously increasing in Allahabad High Court. Now this news belongs to Justice Gautam Chaudhary who has made a proud record of delivering the verdict in Hindi. So far during his tenure of less than four years, he has come up with more than 13 thousand verdicts in Hindi.
Justice Gautam had also created history by delivering the verdict of Dr. Kafeel Khan of Gorakhpur in Hindi. This is the most talked about decision of any High Court in Hindi. The judge of Allahabad High Court says that Hindi is our mother and all other languages are our aunts (Mausi). Therefore, he gives priority to his mother tongue and delivers his decisions in Hindi.
Simultaneously many other judges including Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri, Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav have given judgments in Hindi in the last few years, but it’s Justice Gautam Chaudhary who has made a record of delivering judgments in Hindi only.
Justice Chaudhary believes that not only institutions but also common people can do the work of connecting Hindi with the public. You just need to have passion for your mother tongue. Justice Gautam has created a record of delivering more than 13 thousand judgments in Hindi in his tenure of less than 4 years.
According to reports, Choudhary gives 35 to 40 judgments from his bench. All types of decision have been taken in this including some interim as well as some final ones. Let us tell you that most of the decisions are pronounced in Hindi in the Supreme Court and High Court.
Justice Gautam Chaudhary was sworn in as a judge in Allahabad High Court on 12 December 2019. From the very beginning, he started delivering verdicts in Hindi. Even in the case of Dr. Kafeel Khan, he gave the verdict in Hindi only. This decision was welcomed by everyone and was considered a historic decision. Apart from this, he has given decisions on petitions and revision petitions in all cases in Hindi only.
Although Justice Choudhary has studied English medium in Convent Schools, but he has a special love for Hindi and he wants to take Hindi further.
