Highest Security Alert For PM Modi’s Visit To Srinagar On 20-21 June

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his visit to Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on 20 June, the administration has tightened security to the maximum level to ensure a smooth and secure event during the 18th International Yoga Day celebrations.

Itinerary:

PM Modi will arrive in Srinagar on the evening of 20 June. He will participate in the International Yoga Day event at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the picturesque banks of Dal Lake on 21 June.

As per reports, more than 6,000 participants will join the Prime Minister for the yoga session.

This marks Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since his re-election for a third term.

The security arrangements for the visit have been meticulous and comprehensive.

Special Protection Group (SPG) teams, responsible for the Prime Minister’s security, have been on the ground in Srinagar for the past five days to coordinate with local security agencies.

The authorities have thoroughly sanitized the SKICC venue, and SPG personnel will take complete control of the site two days before the Prime Minister’s arrival.

A security official involved in the preparations stated, “We are implementing human surveillance, electronic monitoring, drone oversight, extensive area coverage, and Hawkeye surveillance along the VVIP route as part of the security measures.”

Every protocol outlined in the security blue book for the Prime Minister is being strictly adhered to.

R R Swain, Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, is personally overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the security arrangements.

DGP Swain confirmed that they will seal all roads to the venue a day in advance and strictly regulate access to only those who pass thorough security checks.

Meanwhile, top intelligence officers emphasized that they are taking no chances with the Prime Minister’s security.

“This visit is under the highest security preparedness, and we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a safe environment,” reassured the intelligence official.
