Hemant Soren Resigns Amidst ED Probe, Champai Soren to Take Over as Jharkhand’s New CM

Hemant Soren, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has resigned from his position amidst an ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into a land scam. Despite repeated summons from the ED and the looming threat of arrest, Hemant Soren faced interrogation today, leading to his resignation later in the evening.

Champai Soren is set to replace Hemant Soren as the new Chief Minister. The ED’s pursuit of action against Hemant Soren in the land scam has dominated headlines, with continuous updates on his interrogation throughout the day.

While initial reports hinted at his arrest, it has now been clarified that Hemant Soren voluntarily submitted his resignation at Raj Bhavan following the ED’s questioning.

In addition to these developments, MLAs from the Grand Alliance have approached the Governor, adding a political dimension to the situation. Outside Raj Bhavan, MLAs were observed expressing their concerns and causing a commotion in the aftermath of Hemant Soren’s resignation.

The political landscape in Jharkhand undergoes a significant shift, marking the end of Hemant Soren’s tenure and the emergence of Champai Soren as the new Chief Minister.
