Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday reaffirmed that his government is working for cow protection and welfare. He said the state is giving fodder aid and helping gaushalas become self-reliant.
He spoke at a ceremony at Shri Krishna Gaushala in Badopal, Fatehabad.
During the event, he also paid floral tributes to Shri Rajendranand Maharaj. He called his life an inspiration and urged people to continue his social work.
Later, the Chief Minister distributed fodder cheques worth ₹7.2 crore to 67 gaushalas in the district. He further announced that ₹88.50 crore will be released this year for 605 gaushalas across Haryana.
In addition, he sanctioned ₹21 lakh for the development of Badopal village. He also declared that the wildlife treatment centre in the village will be named after Shri Rajendranand Maharaj.
Moreover, he promised to examine six demands raised for the Fatehabad constituency at the departmental level.
Saini pointed out that the government has released ₹358.50 crore as fodder grants in the past ten and a half years. He added that solar plants are now operational in 330 gaushalas, and the remaining ones will soon follow suit.
Furthermore, 200 gaushalas have received grants of ₹10 lakh each for cattle sheds, with 51 already completed.
Significantly, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for strengthening the double-engine government’s work on cow protection, the Gita, and the Ganga. He also highlighted the Rashtriya Gokul Mission for the promotion of indigenous cow breeds.
In 2014, Haryana had only 215 registered gaushalas with 1.75 lakh cattle. Today, there are 686 registered gaushalas with four lakh stray cattle.
Meanwhile, the Gau Seva Aayog’s budget has risen from ₹2 crore in 2014–15 to ₹595 crore. Finally, he announced that 800 e-rickshaws will soon be provided to gaushalas, with procurement underway.
