Anjuman Intezamia Masajid (AIM), the management organization of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, has joined the court-ordered ASI scientific investigation of the Varanasi mosque. On Saturday, professionals started the 3D mapping of the property and also examined one of the cellars.
On Saturday, the ASI finished cleaning, measuring, and charting the whole Gyanvapi property. Additionally, 3D imaging was started in the main mosque area, where namaz is performed, as well as in other spaces, such as the western wall. However, none of the other basement chambers sealed by AIM were unlocked for inspection, with the exception of the cellar owned by the Vyas family.

The joint secretary for AIM, SM Yaseen, praised the ASI’s efforts and noted that “no keys were sought to open any portion locked by the mosque management.”
According to Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, the attorney for the Hindu side, the ASI team inspected the western wall, which some people think may hold temple relics, in addition to performing cleaning, measuring, and mapping tasks. The Vyas family’s cellar was also examined by the inspection crew.

On Sunday, the survey will go on. Chaturvedi predicted that the ASI would start utilizing tools like ground-penetrating radar.
In order to conduct the survey between 8am and 5pm, the district government has given permission for nine members of AIM and seven Hindus, including the women plaintiffs, to stay in Gyanvapi.
