Gurugram: 30-year-old Man Dies During Bath Inside Pond, Gets Stuck In The Mud

A tragic incident unfolded in Bhora Kalan village when a 30-year-old auto driver met with a fatal accident while attempting to take a bath in a pond. According to the police, the incident occurred on Monday evening.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the fire department, accompanied by divers, rushed to the scene. After a painstaking five-hour effort, they managed to retrieve the lifeless body of the victim, who had become stuck in the mud inside the pond. The police subsequently handed over the deceased, identified as Pradeep Kumar, to his family after conducting a post-mortem examination on Tuesday.

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Bhora Kalan village, was employed as an auto driver. His family members alleged that the tragic incident was a result of negligence on the part of the gram panchayat. They claimed that while cleaning the pond, the panchayat had removed mud without implementing proper wire fencing, leading to the unfortunate mishap.

On the day of the incident, Pradeep was playing cards near the pond with two friends due to the lack of electricity. When power was restored, his friends decided to go to the tubewells to beat the heat, while Pradeep chose to take a bath in the pond. However, he failed to return after some time, and concerned villagers who had witnessed him entering the pond raised an alarm and immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving the alert, both the police and the fire brigade promptly arrived at the scene. After an arduous search, they managed to recover Pradeep’s body from the pond after hours of effort.

A senior police officer stated that the body was taken into custody and kept in the mortuary overnight before being handed over to the family following the post-mortem examination. An official report regarding the incident has been filed.
