Guest Of Honour Pawan Tripathi Attends Chicago Open University’s Seventh Convocation In Delhi

Guest of honour Pawan Tripathi, a Maharashtra BJP leader and Siddhivinayak Temple treasurer, attended Chicago Open University’s seventh convocation at the Le Meridien hotel in Delhi, where organisers honoured around 50 to 55 people for their work in education, healthcare, environmental protection, social service and other fields.

The recipients came from different states and received honorary doctorates, Lifetime Achievement Awards and Excellence Awards. The ceremony also highlighted nation-building, youth participation and community service.

University Vice-Chancellor RK Gupta and India Office Director Bhavana Gupta organised the event.

Among those honoured were Pawan Tripathi and Pradeep Tripathi. Pawan Tripathi said receiving an award also increased a person’s responsibility towards society and the nation.

He discussed the role of young people and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

Pandey Calls for Water and Tree Conservation

The university recognised Padma Shri awardee Umashankar Pandey for his work in water conservation and environmental protection. He shared his guiding message, “Build a bund around the field and plant trees on the bund.”

Pandey said protecting water resources and trees would help secure a better future for coming generations. He also urged efforts to save the Yamuna river.

Arvind Kumar Singh received recognition for community work that included blood donation, assistance to poor families and helping arrange marriages for children from needy households.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped distribute food, masks and sanitiser. He said supporting disadvantaged people remained his priority.

The university also honoured guests from Arunachal Pradesh for their long-standing literary contributions. Former Patna High Court judge Iqbal Ahmed Ansari and other personalities attended.

RK Gupta said the university selected people with sustained contributions in their fields.

Bhavana Gupta said the process involved reviewing candidates’ work, social impact, profiles and documents. Selected candidates also had to write an article related to their field and present their views at the ceremony.

The convocation provided a platform to recognise service and underline the responsibility that comes with public honour.
