Goa Statehood Day: PM Modi, Leaders Share Messages Of Pride

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended warm greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, celebrating the state’s vibrant culture, rich heritage, scenic beauty, and remarkable contribution to the nation’s progress.

In a message shared on X, PM Modi described Goa as a land renowned for its cultural diversity, natural splendour, and warm-hearted citizens. He also used the occasion to acknowledge the efforts of individuals who worked tirelessly to preserve Goa’s unique identity and drive its development over the years.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that Goa would continue to prosper and play a significant role in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat. He also prayed for the health, happiness, and prosperity of every resident of the state.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes on the occasion.

In his message on X, Shah described Goa as a remarkable blend of cultures and traditions that showcases India’s renowned hospitality to the world while contributing to national pride and economic growth.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant highlighted the historical significance of May 30, 1987, when Goa attained full statehood and became India’s 25th state. He noted that the day remains deeply connected to Goa’s cultural identity and collective history.

Sawant urged citizens to work together for the state’s continued advancement and prosperity.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also extended his greetings, praising Goa’s cultural heritage and natural beauty. He expressed hope that the tourism-driven state would achieve new milestones of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

Leaders across party lines collectively emphasised Goa’s enduring cultural significance, thriving tourism sector, and growing contribution to India’s development aspirations.
