Ghazipur Comes Alive With Literary Spirit At Inaugural Literature Festival 2025

Ghazipur’s historic soil witnessed a vibrant celebration of literature, culture, and dialogue on Saturday with the grand inauguration of the Ghazipur Literature Festival 2025.

CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express, Upendra Rai, along with Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha, Rajya Sabha MP Sangita Balwant, and South Africa’s High Commissioner Professor Anil Sokalal, jointly inaugurated the event.

The inauguration reflected the city’s literary and cultural fervour, with scholars, writers, artists, and young talents from India and abroad attending the festival.

The hall resonated with serious literary discussions while retaining the unique warmth of Ghazipur’s local heritage, giving visitors a sense of belonging.

Cultural Essence Highlighted Through Bhojpuri Performance

The festival took a distinctly cultural turn when a Bhojpuri Vandana in praise of Goddess Saraswati was performed.

The spiritual and cultural rendition enriched the event’s atmosphere, and residents welcomed the dignitaries with enthusiastic applause, blending tradition with the festival’s literary tone.

Speaking at the opening session, Upendrra Rai highlighted that Ghazipur has long been a living laboratory of knowledge and dialogue.

He remarked, “Ghazipur has always been a land of literature and ideas. This festival carries forward that tradition, presenting it in a modern context and showing the new generation the richness of Ghazipur’s intellectual heritage.”

The festival is a collaborative initiative by Dialogue India and Bharat Express, aiming to re-establish Ghazipur as a literary hub not only in Eastern Uttar Pradesh but across the country.

The festival features a diverse range of events, including literary discussions, dialogue sessions, poetry gatherings, cultural performances, and special programmes for young creators. These sessions aim to foster creativity, debate, and cultural exchange, while strengthening the city’s identity as a centre of literary excellence.

Ghazipur Literature Festival 2025 successfully blended tradition with contemporary literary expression, marking the city as a vibrant space for literature, dialogue, and cultural pride.
